Student campus technology platform connects to FAC’s secure, real-time payment gateway

Hamilton, Bermuda – October 25, 2018.  First Atlantic Commerce (FAC), a global online payment solutions provider, and TouchNet, a Global Payments company and leading provider of campus commerce solutions for Higher Education, today announced their partnership and technical integration to enable real time online credit card processing and local settlement for campuses across Central America, the Caribbean, Bermuda and Mauritius.

FAC is a Bermuda-based, feature-rich payment gateway that delivers customized and flexible online credit and debit card processing to international corporations across the globe. The company also provides the first and only PCI validated P2PE solution for companies in the Latin American Caribbean Region as well as risk mitigation solutions to its merchants, banks and other gateways.

Since its inception, TouchNet has been focused on delivering seamless, comprehensive commerce solutions designed for how higher education does business. Built on a foundation of integration, TouchNet unifies the entire campus onto one platform to oversee, manage and reconcile everything from commerce to credentials to transactions to disbursements.

TouchNet has integrated to FAC’s gateway so that its customers can accept credit and debit card payments using FAC’s payment platform with settlement to local banks.

The first merchant to go live using the integrated system was the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT), the largest national public provider of tertiary education in Trinidad & Tobago.

Adam McDonald, Vice President and General Manager of TouchNet, said: “This is an important step in our international expansion to provide innovative commerce solutions to universities across the Caribbean and Central America. Since First Atlantic Commerce is connected to all the major acquiring banks across the Caribbean as well as banks in Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Panama, integrating with FAC is great news for us and campuses across this region.”

FAC’s CEO, Chris Burns said:  “TouchNet is a world class software solution provider that offers higher education communities simple access to complex systems.
